Hearse Procession (like a parade) and Viewing (like a car show) Time: 10:30 AM Registration, Noon Line up and Samba OlyWA performs?, 12:30 PM Procession led by Tenino Band 1:00 PM-5:00 PM Viewing. Awards presented at 3:30 PM. Cost: Free
Location: Main Street in front of Joe’s Place Description: Enjoy viewing retired and in-service. Hearses from around the Pacific Northwest participate in the procession and viewing. Many of the hearses have amazing displays to view.

Casket Races

Time: Start time to be announced based on number of teams participating. Awards ceremony will take place between 3:00 and5:00PM.
Location: Main Street in front of Joe’s Place and the Bucoda Community Center.
Build your own casket or you can borrow one from the Town of Bucoda.
Teams consist of 4 Pallbearers and 1 Corpse (Teams of 2 or more Pallbearers and 1 Corpse will be allowed to compete)
The Race Course is approximately 175’ long.
Awards will be given for overall Fastest Times for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Dead Last, Scariest Casket, Funniest Casket, Most Original Casket, and Best Costumed Team & Cortege. There will also be the Mayor’s Cup with cities in Thurston and Lewis County competing against each other. There will also be Casket Races for the following categories/types: First Responders, Media, Middle Schools, High Schools, College/University, Non-profit Organizations, Government Agencies, Elected Officials, Candidates for Elected Offices, Casinos, Financial Institutions (Banks/Credit Unions), Real Estate Firms, Bars/Taverns, Chambers of Commerce, Businesses, Families (2 Adults, 3 Youth) and Friends. Each category will have a trophy for the fastest time and the Best Costume Team & Cortege. If you don’t have a team but would like to compete we can place you with others to form a team. Each team will race a minimum of two races.
Cost $150 for Pre-Registration, includes 1 T-Shirt for each participant (5 total T-Shirts). You can registered up to Noon on September 21st, however to receive a T-Shirt on Race Day deadline to register is October 4th.

Entertainer: DanniRose☆ is a 19 year old artist from Olympia Washington. She performs a self-written repertoire of pop and indie with influences of such like Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and L Devine. She currently has two songs out (Dear to You and Boy in a Band) on all streaming platforms with an EP in the works.

Thrill the World Dance Worldwide Simultaneous Dance to “THRILLER” Boo-Coda Spook-Tacular Boo-Crew is organizing the Bucoda Thriller annual worldwide Simultaneous Dance to “Thriller” on Saturday, October 28, 2023 this event will take place at Bucoda Community Center. Every year in October Thrill the World hosts a global event inviting Thriller groups in cities around the world to perform at the same time, synchronized in GMT. Thrill the World has been represented in 32 countries on 6 continents by over 23,000 dancers. Time: 3:00PM PST, 10:00 GMT (registration and practice 1:30PM. The Boo-Coda Spook-Tacular Haunted House & Festival is coordinated by the Town of Bucoda and sponsored by: D Zines, Joe’s Place, Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel, Funeral Alternatives of Washington, and The Chronicle.
Family Friendly Haunted House
October 25th and 26th Family Friendly Haunted House and Charity Drive in Boo-Coda Time: 6:00PM-9:00PM This is geared for children 12 and under and those who want a little fun but not up for fright of the Spook-tacular Haunted House up the road. Two levels of fun Pumpkins (no scares) or ghoul (scares) come dressed in costume we love sharing photos of our adorable and spooky guests. Cost: $5 per person or 4 non-perishable food items (not ramen) or 4 children’s books- used ok if good condition Or $20 per family (2 adults+4 kids) or a clean usable blanket, coat, or bike.
We do this as a charity event to raise funds and items for local nonprofit groups but we don't want admission to be a reason your child can't attend so there will be a limited number of tickets available at Bucoda Town hall. We scare because we care. Collected items will benefit Tenino Food Bank, South Sound Reading Foundation, Alaffia G.A.C.E. bike program, Mixx 96.1 wrapping up the holidays, and local shelter programs. We hope to see you for a Fangstasic time.
